بالعربية نقول «الساعة العاشرة» و«تمطر». بالإنجليزية لا بد من فاعل، فنستخدم It: It's ten o'clock. It's raining. It's a long way.

خطأ شائع: ✘ Is raining. ✘ Is ten o'clock. ✔ It's raining. It's ten o'clock.
قارن: It was a long way to the hotel (مسافة) — There was a long queue (وجود شيء).
