Regular and irregular verbs
لكل فعل ثلاثة أشكال: الأصل (go)، الماضي (went)، والتصريف الثالث (gone). في الأفعال المنتظمة الماضي والثالث متشابهان (worked – worked)، والشاذة تحتاج حفظًا.

١القاعدة
| التصريف | نستخدمه في | مثال |

| الأصل (go) | المضارع، بعد do/does/did، بعد will/can | I go. Did you go? I'll go. |
| الماضي (went) | الماضي البسيط المثبت | I went yesterday. |
| الثالث (gone) | المضارع التام والمجهول | I've gone. It was done. |

خطأ شائع: ✘ I have went ✔ I have gone — ✘ I seen it ✔ I saw it / I've seen it.
٢قصة قصيرة: يوم في المدينة
استمع لكل جملة وكررها بصوت عالٍ. ثم أخفِ الترجمة وحاول أن تفهم وحدك.
Last Saturday, Nour took the bus to the city centre.يوم السبت الماضي، أخذت نور الحافلة إلى مركز المدينة.
She met her cousin at a café and they drank fresh orange juice.قابلت ابنة عمها في مقهى وشربتا عصير برتقال طازج.
Then they went to the bookshop. Nour bought two novels.ثم ذهبتا إلى المكتبة. اشترت نور روايتين.
One book was written by her favourite writer.أحد الكتابين كتبه كاتبها المفضل.
She has read all his books. This is his new one.قرأت كل كتبه. هذا كتابه الجديد.
In the afternoon, it began to rain, so they found a taxi.في الظهيرة بدأت تمطر، فوجدتا سيارة أجرة.
The taxi cost twenty thousand dinars.كلّفت سيارة الأجرة عشرين ألف دينار.
Nour has never forgotten that day.لم تنسَ نور ذلك اليوم أبدًا.

cost – cost – cost/kɒst/يكلّفIt cost a lot.
forget – forgot – forgotten/fəˈɡet/ /fəˈɡɒt/ /fəˈɡɒtn/ينسىI've forgotten his name.
novel/ˈnɒvl/روايةShe bought a novel.
