سؤالان متشابهان ومعناهما معاكس: Who saw you? (مَن رآك؟) وWho did you see? (مَن رأيت؟). الفرق في did — ومتى نحتاجها.

١القاعدة
1) السؤال عن الفاعل (مَن فعل؟): Who/What = الفاعل، فلا نستخدم do/does/did، والفعل في شكله العادي:
- Who lives in this house? (مَن يسكن؟)
- Who saw the accident? (مَن رأى؟)
- What happened? (ماذا حدث؟)
- Who broke the window?
2) السؤال عن المفعول (مَن/ماذا فعلت به؟): نستخدم do/does/did كأي سؤال:
- Who did you see? (مَن رأيت أنت؟)
- What did she buy?
- Who do you want to speak to?

مع who عن الفاعل في المضارع: Who wants tea? (الفعل مع s، مثل he)
