الماضي البسيط: الأفعال المنتظمة والشاذة
Past simple: worked / got / went
لتحكي ما حدث أمس أو الأسبوع الماضي تستخدم الماضي البسيط. معظم الأفعال تأخذ ed (work → worked)، وبعضها شاذ له شكل خاص (go → went).

١القاعدة
الماضي البسيط له شكل واحد مع كل الفواعل: I worked, she worked, they worked.
الأفعال المنتظمة: نضيف ed

نطق ed: /t/ بعد الأصوات المهموسة (worked, stopped)، /d/ بعد المجهورة (lived, cleaned)، و/ɪd/ بعد t وd (wanted, needed). استمع للأمثلة في الكلمات أدناه.

Yesterday was a busy day for Nadia.كان أمس يومًا مزدحمًا لنادية.
She got up at six and had breakfast.استيقظت في السادسة وتناولت الفطور.
Then she walked to the station and took the train to work.ثم مشت إلى المحطة وأخذت القطار إلى العمل.
She worked until two o'clock.عملت حتى الساعة الثانية.
After work, she went to the market and bought some vegetables.بعد العمل، ذهبت إلى السوق واشترت بعض الخضروات.
In the market, she saw her old teacher.في السوق، رأت معلمتها القديمة.

In the evening, she cooked dinner and watched a film.في المساء، طبخت العشاء وشاهدت فيلمًا.
She was very tired, so she went to bed early.كانت متعبة جدًا، فذهبت إلى النوم مبكرًا.
