النفي والسؤال في الماضي: didn't وDid
Past simple negative and questions: I didn't / Did you...?
في الماضي، كلمة مساعدة واحدة للنفي والسؤال مع كل الفواعل: did. والأهم: بعد did يرجع الفعل إلى أصله — I didn't go وليس I didn't went.

القاعدة الذهبية: الماضي يظهر مرة واحدة فقط — في did. فالفعل بعدها في أصله.

مع كلمة سؤال: What did you do yesterday? Where did they go? What time did the film start?
ومع was/were لا نستخدم did: I wasn't tired. Were you at home?
